How to Begin and Create a Family Tree with Today’s Technology.

Who do you think you are? Get started in discovering your ancestry and create your first family tree with genealogy. Learn the basics of family history research, how to make sense of what you discover, how to organize and record the data you collect, and how to use the Internet to discover more about your ancestors.

Elaine Allen began research in genealogy over 30 years ago with a family project and has since developed it into a passion. A professional genealogist, Kentucky Librarian Director, and DAR member, she covers such topics as the importance of staying organized and how to go about it; where and how to look for information in libraries, historical societies, and on the internet. Presented by the Metropolis Public Library funded provided by Eliminate Digital Divide Grant/ISL. All workshops are free of charge.
